Gary Lynn Campbell, Sr.
Age 66 of Braceville and formerly of Maryville, Tennessee passed away peacefully at his home Friday morning, June 29, 2018.
Born November 26, 1951 in Maryville, Tennessee, Gary Lynn was the son of Bobbie S. (Campbell) Payne. He was raised and educated in Maryville and graduated from Everett High School with the class of 1969. Shortly after high school Gary enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he would proudly serve his country during the Vietnam War and many years as a Drill Instructor. Also around this time he would meet and marry the love of his life, Sandra Clark on August 15, 1970 in Monroe County, Tennessee. With Gary's service came the duty to have to relocate from time to time, but wherever Gary and Sandra were stationed they always made sure to continue to make it their home and raise their family.
Following his active duty, Gary went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Chemical and Nuclear Engineering. He then gained employment with the United States Marine Corp for nine years before going to work at Reichhold Chemical for 15 years. A career change finally lead him to become a certified nursing assistant until retirement. In his free time Gary was an avid golfer who also enjoyed boating and water skiing. He loved football and baseball and would be rooting for either the Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox or Tennessee Titans. His favorite times were always had when everyone was having a good time and his family was by his side.
