Gail E. Tarman
Age 60 of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 11, 2015 at her home.
Born January 26, 1955 in Joliet, Gail Elaine was a daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Charlotte Jean (Hanson) Van Duyne. She was raised in Wilmington, attended St. Rose School, and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1973. Gail married Robert C. Tarman June 13, 1973 and together they raised their family in Wilmington. Gail was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister and called on the homebound. She took great pleasure in decorating and maintaining her home and yard. Gail loved flowers; enjoyed participating in wine and design with her friends, and shopping. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, who cherished her family more than anything.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Robert; daughter Lisa Tarman of Wilmington; son and daughter-in-law: Bob and Julie Tarman of Joliet; granddaughter Kendyl Tarman; brothers and sisters: Joseph (Georgene) Van Duyne of Coal City, Ann (the late Gene) Savage-Williams of Reno, Nevada, Michael (Pam) Van Duyne of Wilmington, Mary Ellen (Jim) Gajcak of Shorewood and Christopher (Shari) Van Duyne of Wilmington; brothers and sisters-in-law: Larry (Susan) Tarman, Bill (Tina) Tarman and Laura (Tony) Esparza, all of Coal City and Linda (Mike) Bober of Chicago, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, as well as her dear friend Susie Evans and friend and cousin Karen Tull.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation and video tribute will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Wednesday morning, December 16th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rose Catholic Church, 604 South Kankakee Street in Wilmington. Reverend Steve Bondi will officiate. Green flameless cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
