Gail J. Clifford

Age 69 of Coal City, peacefully passed away Saturday December 24, 2016 at Morris Hospital, with her children by her side.

Born September 9, 1947 in Chicago, Gail Jean was a daughter of the late John Kowdis and Frances (nee Tellecki) Bitterman. She was raised and educated in Chicago and married Cornelius Michael Clifford on September 11, 1965. He preceded her on November 27, 1985. Gail was a member of the Coal City Area Club and was an avid bowler. She will be remembered as a great fan of Anthony Rizzo and the Chicago Cubs; Marian Hossa and the Chicago Blackhawks; NASCAR's Jimmie Johnson, and the Chicago Bears.

Gail is survived by one daughter Kelly (Tom) Hadley of Downers Grove; three sons: Mike (Stacey) Clifford of Pekin, Shawn Clifford of Hobart, Indiana and Brian Clifford of Coal City; grandkids: Mason, Chris, Chyle, Taylor, Austin, Alex, Donald and Timothy; brother Dennis (Char) Kowdis of Braidwood; sister Toni (Roy) Martin of Arizona, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her dear shopping partner Holly.

Gail is preceded in death by her parents; husband Michael Clifford, daughter Dawn Clifford; twin sister Dawn Kowdis, sister Fran Thomas; niece Michelle Kaminsky; her mother and father-in-law Mary and Neil Clifford; brother-in-law Raymond Clifford and best friends: Richard and Josephine Elstner.

Cremation rites are being accorded and the family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until time of memorial service 7:30 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Gail's memory to her family for their distribution.
