Gabriel Serna - Ruiz

Age 44 of Morris, passed away Wednesday morning November 19, 2008 at his home.

Born March 28, 1964 in Mexico, Gabriel is a son of Maria Guadalupe-Ruiz and the late Pascual Serna. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, where he was involved with the Spanish Mass Choir. In his free time Gabriel enjoyed music and singing and was an avid Chicago Cub's fan.

Survivors include his wife Olympia (nee Rivera) of Morris, mother Maria Guadalupe of Mexico; four children: Gabriel, Jr. (Nancy) Serna and Ismael Serna, both of Morris, Julio (fiancAC. - Nina) Serna of Joliet and Ivan Serna of Morris; one grandson Omar Gabriel Serna and several brothers and sisters, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gabriel was preceded in death by his father Pascual Serna.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Friday November 21, 2008 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 514 East Jackson Street in Morris. Funeral services will follow on Saturday November 22nd at 1:30PM in the Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Diego Maximino officiating.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Gabriel's memory to his family for distribution to local charities of their choosing.
