Age 87 of Roselle, Illinois passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, January 7, 2025 at the ARC of Dwight.
Born November 22, 1937 in Chicago, Frederick Ray was a son of George, Sr. and Juanita (Collins) Sirovy. He grew up in Chicago and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After his service, he pursued a career as a machinist, a profession that perfectly suited his skillful hands and meticulous nature. Fred was a natural tinkerer, always finding joy in fixing, creating, and improving whatever he touched.
Among Fred's greatest joys were his fishing trips to Canada, where he found peace and contentment. Boating was another passion that brought him great happiness, as did the cherished moments spent celebrating holidays with his family. His love for these simple pleasures spoke to his character: a man who found fulfillment in connection, tradition, and the beauty of life's quieter moments.
Fred stayed active throughout his life, enjoying exercise and excelling in bowling, where he achieved the rare and impressive accomplishment of a perfect 300 game. He was also deeply proud to have helped his nephew build his home, a testament to his generosity, dedication, and skill.
Those who knew Fred will remember him as a simple yet deeply thoughtful man, organized, independent, and proud of his self-sufficiency. His calm presence, steady hands, and warm heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Kay Sirovy of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; several nieces and nephews including his special nephew, Terry Sirovy of Wilmington, and numerous great nieces and great nephews, especially: Sarah (Niko) Cyrkiel and Nicholas (Maddison) Sirovy.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, George and Juanita, and siblings: George E. (Janet) Sirovy, Jr., Victor (Janine) Sirovy, James (Phyllis) Sirovy, Wanda (Robert) Pilette and Marilyn (Ray) Mohyde.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
