Age 92 of Coal City, passed away Thursday January 03, 2008 at Heritage Manor in Dwight.

Born February 21, 1915 in Braidwood, Frank was a son of the late James and Julia Lavicka-Kratochvil. He was raised and educated in Braidwood and on March 6, 1937 married Irene Emanuelson in Morris. Together they lived in the Braidwood and Coal City area their entire married life. Frank was employed at the papermill in Wilmington for more than 42 years and in his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, reading and writing poetry and was known for collecting over 800,000 cans.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Irene; children: Joanne (the late Gary) Ulivi and Lynn (the late Cathy) Kratochvil, both of Coal City and Kathy (Henry) Kuchenbacker of Wilmington. Grandchildren: Lisa (Alan) Martis, Sherrie (Frank) Wyss, Kyle (Nicole) Ulivi, Alan Kratochvil and Brian Kratochvil, all of Coal City and Joleen Kuchenbacker and Jennifer (Kelly) Radwan, both of Crest Hill. Great Grandchildren: Amanda Watson, Marissa, Kirsty, Brandy and Paige Ulivi, Jamie Martis, Devon, Dustin and Delaney Wyss, KainUlivi and Brianna Kratochvil and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson Craig Ulivi, one great grandson Gavin Ulivi, one son-in-law Gary Ulivi, one daughter-in-law Cathy Kratochvil, five sisters: Lillian Kilpatrick, Julia Stasny, Mary Touvelle, Anne Jackson and Pearl O'Keefe and one brother James Kratochvil.

Visitation will be held on Monday January 07, 2008 from 9:30AM until time of funeral service 11:00AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Dr. Thomas Logsdon from the Coal City United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery with acting pallbearers: Alan Kratochvil, Brian Kratochvil, Henry Kuchenbacker, Frank Wyss, Kyle Ulivi and Al Martis.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Frank's memory to the Coal City United Methodist Church Building Fund, 6805 East McArdle Road, Coal City, Illinois 60416.
