Frank J. Cortina, Sr.

Age 86 of Joliet and formerly Burbank, passed away Tuesday March 6, 2007 at his home.

Born January 5, 1921 in Ripi, Italy, Frank was a son of the late Joseph and Anna Marianna. He immigrated to the United States in 1924 and was a veteran of the US Army, having served during World War II. On October 8, 1949 Frank married Beverley Williams in St. Ambrose Church in Chicago.

Frank is the husband of Beverley; Father of Christina (the late Sonny) Sabella of Plainfield, Susan (Rick) DeGolyer of Shorewood, Rosemarie Cortina of New Carlisle, Indiana, Frank, Jr. (Timmie) Cortina of Crest Hill, Virginia (Christopher) Cannova of Spring Hill, Florida and Earl (Deanna) Herman of Burbank. Grandfather of (17); Great Grandfather of 8, with another expected in May; Brother of Helen (Ray) Realy of Oswego, Rose (the late Richard) MacDuff of Naperville and the late Mary Petramale; Brother-in-law of Jody (the late Dominic) Cortina of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Theresa (the late Armando) Cortina of Oakton, Virginia and Uncle, Great Uncle and Cousin to many.

Visitation will be held on Thursday March 08, 2007 from 4-9PM at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. Funeral services will follow Friday March 9th at 10AM in the funeral home with Dr. Thomas Logsdon officiating.

Interment with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Frank's memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431.
