Francis Glenn
Age 95 of Wilmington, formerly Joliet and Grand Haven, Michigan, passed away Wednesday January 13, 2016 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.
Born June 15, 1920 in Sharon, Wisconsin, Francis Gerald was a son of the late Cluster O. and Mable Overly-Glenn. He was raised and educated in Mazon, where he graduated from Mazon High School. Francis served in the United States Army Air Corps as a gunnery instructor, and on June 21, 1946, he married Frances DeAcetis in Joliet. Following his military service, he worked for Lemont Manufacturing Company as an equipment operator for more than thirty years until retirement. In his spare time, Francis enjoyed going to garage sales, antiquing and fishing.
Survivors include his two sons: Gerald (Patricia) Glenn of Grand Haven, Michigan and Thomas (Debra) Glenn of Wilmington; four grandchildren: Cris, Rick, Dan and Rachel Glenn; ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Frances Glenn on May 9, 2011; three siblings: Raymond and Jack Glenn and Beverly Wilder, and one great grandson: Tyler.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and a memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday January 27, 2016 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Inurnment with full military honors will follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m. in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, where Francis will be interred with his wife.
