Frances Marcella Gudac
“Marce”
Age 95 of Marseilles, formerly Coal City, Lockport and Morris, was escorted beautifully and peacefully to Heaven on Tuesday May 17, 2016 at the Joliet Area Hospice Home.
Born February 21, 1921 in Marseilles, Marce was the daughter of Jacob and Ann (Sciarini) Sineni. She was raised in Joliet and Lockport, graduated from Lockport Township High School, and attended Northern Illinois University. On October 4, 1943, Marce married the late Matthew Gudac at the Church of Saint Anthony in Joliet. She was a resident and board member of Saratoga Towers in Morris, until relocating to The Rivershores Healthcare and Rehabilitation Centre in Marseilles for the past five years. It was there, that everyone knew her as “Hollywood” because of her glamourous necklaces, headbands and her glittery glasses. Marce managed the hot lunch program at Fairmont Grade School in Lockport before gaining employment at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant. She later retired from Commonwealth Edison, Collins Station. Marce loved clothes, enjoyed shopping, was known for crafting and crocheting, had an affinity for playing cards, took pleasure in traveling and reading, and adored Siamese cats. She will be remembered as a loving grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she truly cherished.
Survivors include her daughter: Deborah “Deb” (Dan) Bogwill of Morris; four grandchildren: Holeigh (Robert, Jr.) Strange of Morris, Charles (Jennifer) Bogwill of Des Moines, Iowa, Ed (Jill Carpenter) Jurczak of Hoffman Estates and Danny Bogwill of Darien; five great grandchildren: Nickolas, Savannah and Tiffany (Brian Olson) Strange, and Isabel and Allison Bogwill; one great-great granddaughter: Aubree Olson; one sister-in-law: Loretta Sineni; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marce was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers: Russell and Wendell Sineni, and most recently her loving niece: Brenda Sytar.
