Age 86 of Wilmington, passed away Monday November 7, 2011 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

Born May 19, 1925 in Deselm, Frances was a daughter of the late Frank and Nellie Hazelton-Hartman. She was raised and educated in the Deselm and Manteno area and married Morris Gilbert Curl, whom preceded her in death in 1986. Frances lived in Wesley Township prior to moving into Wilmington in 2009. She was a member of the former First United Methodist Church in Deselm, where she was quite active and a regular volunteer. Frances enjoyed ceramics, of which she taught in her home in years past. She will be remembered as a great cook and an avid reader.

Survivors include thirteen children: Raymond (Ardys) Curl of Watkins Glen, New York, Frank J. (Ruth Ann) Curl of Chicago, Mary A. (Charles "Sonny") Piazza of Kankakee, Kathleen L. (Dave) Hebert of Plainfield, Betty M. (Cliff) Matheson of Mesa, Arizona, William W. Curl and Jeffrey B. Curl, both of Manteno, John G. (Tracy Alsbury) Curl of Coal City, Daniel R. (Cindy) Curl of Florence Township, Peggy S. (Bill) Marrs of New Iberia, Louisiana, Timothy M. (Robin) Curl of Manteno, Christopher C. Curl of Lockport and Theodore R. Curl of Wilmington; (26) grandchildren; (30) great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and one brother Norman "Bud" (Pat) Hartman of Manteno, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gilbert; five children: Nelson T. Curl, Patti Davis, Ruth E. Christiansen, June Curl in infancy and Jane Curl in infancy, and one grandson Michael.

Per Frances' wishes, there will be no services and cremation rites have been accorded. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Deselm Cemetery, where Frances will be laid to rest with her husband.
