Florence R. Palermo
Age 98 of Wilmington, passed away Friday evening January 4, 2013 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Born June 26, 1914 in Chicago, Florence was a daughter of the late Peter and Marion Marino-Clemente. She was raised and educated in Chicago and later owned and operated Flo's Wilmington Inn, as well as the Clover Farm Grocery Store in Northcrest. Florence was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington.
Survivors include three children: JoAnn G. Palermo, Barbara J. (Michael) Marietta and Joseph V. (Joyce) Palermo, all of Wilmington; grandchildren: Lori Duncan (John), Theresa Marietta (Janet Meyer), Michael Marietta and De Anna Farrell (James); great grandchildren: Anthony Hughes (Monica), Angela Hughes, Andrew Hughes (Jane), Stephen Lapinsky, Ian Marietta-Meyer and Jack Marietta-Meyer; two great-great granddaughters: Emily and Gabriella; one sister Dorothy (Raymond) Polino of Evergreen Park and one brother Anthony (the late Laura) Clemente of Hinsdale.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Manny Andrade, and sisters and brother: Hatte (Dominick) Mungove, Theresa (Frank) Malatia, Alex (Stella) Clemente, Emily (James) Vece, Eva (John) Francis, Viola (Ben) Apato and Bertha (James) Bracken.
Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Tuesday January 8, 2013 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Wednesday January 9th at 10:00AM in Saint Rose Catholic Church, 624 South Kankakee Street in Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be officiated by Reverend Steve Bondi and burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wilmington.
