Faye Ann Legg (nee Onsen)

Age 68 of Carbon Hill, passed away Saturday April 21, 2007 at her home.

Born June 19, 1938, Faye was a daughter of the late Harold and Anna (Cushing) Onsen. She was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School with the Graduating Class of 1956. Faye was employed by Collins Generating Station for 20 years until her retirement and was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, where she was involved with The Martha's. Faye enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, but most of all loved her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Delores (the late Jon) McElroy of Diamond, Lois (Jeff) Miller of Erie, Illinois, Laurie (Chuck) Hill of Coal City, Denise (Armando) Esparza of Carbon Hill and Bruce (Stacey) Legg of Diamond. Nine grandchildren: Matthew Womack, Jennifer McElroy, Jillian McElroy, Adam Esparza, Abbey Esparza, Jessica McElroy, Charlie Hill, Dylan Legg and Kalie Legg. Three brothers: Raymond (Betty) Onsen of Coal City, Jimmy (Pat) Onsen of Carbon Hill and Billy (Dee Perona) Onsen of Mazon; one sister Karen (Tom) Summers of Shorewood; four sisters-in-law: Dorothy "Dottie" Onsen of East Brooklyn, Kathy Onsen-Carpenter and Carol Onsen-Morin both of Coal City and Carol Narvick of Morris; one brother-in-law Butch Vandygriff of Diamond and her special aunt Millie Baskerville-Fleishman of Coal City, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers: Leonard Onsen, Wayne Onsen, Jerry Lee Onsen, Richard Onsen and David Onsen; one sister Betty Lou Vandygriff; one granddaughter Amanda Womack; one niece Annie Onsen and one son-in-law Jon McElroy.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Tuesday April 24, 2007 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow Wednesday April 25th at 10:00AM in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held with Rev. Mike Pennock officiating.

Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery and pallbearers will be: Bruce Legg, Jeff Miller, Matthew Womack, Adam Esparza, Rick Onsen and Gary Onsen and honorary pallbearers will be: Jennifer McElroy, Jillian McElroy, Raymond Onsen, Jimmy Onsen and Billy Onsen.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Faye's memory to Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice, 1802 Division Street Suite 222, Morris, Illinois 60450.
