Faye F. Dearth
Age 83 of Coal City, passed away Thursday September 20, 2012 at Morris Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born June 19, 1929 in Galesburg, Illinois, Faye was a daughter of the late Willis and Dorothy Spellman-Tarman. She was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 1947. On October 7, 1950 Faye married Melvin Dearth in the Coal City United Methodist Church and he preceded her on October 28, 2008. Faye worked for several years at the F.S. Grain Elevator in Coal City and in Morris. She was active in Little League Baseball and also assisted with Coal City Music Boosters. Faye enjoyed reading, sewing, and raising flowers. She will be remembered for her African Violets and greatly enjoyed 18 years of wintering in Florida. Faye truly cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and leaves behind many memorable shopping trips.
Survivors include her son Tim (Pam) Dearth and three granddaughters: Alison (Roger) D'Orazio, Laura (Ryan) Allen and Megan (Steve) VandeWerken, all of Coal City; five great grandchildren: Calleigh VandeWerken, Brody D'Orazio, Talan VandeWerken, Emma D'Orazio and Cody Allen; two sisters: Wilma (the late Elvin) Davy of Coal City and Betty (Bill) Minck of Middletown, Ohio, and two sisters-in-law: Lynne (the late Richard) Tarman and Rita (the late Bob) Tarman, both of Coal City, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents; husband Mel and two brothers: Richard and Bob.
In honor of Faye's wishes, private graveside services were held in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, where she was laid to rest with her late husband Melvin.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Faye's memory to a charity of the donor's choosing.
