Evelyn A. Dermott,

Age 86, of Pekin and formerly Wilmington, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Pekin Manor.

Born October 18, 1925 in Wilmington, Evelyn was a daughter of the late Raymond and Mildred (Allott) Elyea. She married Eugene Dermott on October 8, 1950 and he preceded her on May 2, 1993. Evelyn was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin and a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Wilmington. She taught Typing and Business Law at Wilmington High School for many years until her retirement in the late 1970's. She was a former member of the Pilot Club, enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Cub fan. Evelyn loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include one son, Mark (Jayne) Dermott of Delray Beach, FL; daughter, Donna (Charlie) Doll of Pekin; four grandchildren, Bridget Dermott, Sarah Doll, Michael (Tiffany) Kupkowski and Jane Kupkowski, and her first great grandchild expected next month.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eugene; daughter, Diane Kupkowski, and one brother Robert Elyea.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Saturday March 17, 2012 between the hours of 11:00AM and 1:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Evelyn's memory to the Wilmington School District Foundation for Excellence, 209u Wildcat Court, Wilmington, Illinois 60481.
