Eva M. Davis - Heiman

Age 84 of Wilmington and formerly Clarksdale, Missouri, passed away Thursday January 31, 2008 at Provena Villa Franciscan in Joliet.

Born June 22, 1923 in Albany, Missouri, Eva was a daughter of Joseph and Mabel Sowards. She was raised and educated in Albany, Missouri and resided in Wilmington with her first husband Chester Davis from 1953 to 1963. She was employed at Bullocks Restaurant in Wilmington and later worked for Missouri Western College in St. Joseph, Missouri, where she retired from after 15 years of service in 1985. Eva was an avid reader and enjoyed to sing, dance, play games, bake and cook. She loved animals and most of all cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter Lillie (John) Simenson of Wilmington; two grandchildren: Jill Anne Longest of Wilmington and Ronald (Tammie) Parrish of Morris; seven great grandchildren: Shane Longest, Alyssa and Breanna Parrish, Jerrick Longest and Tom, Rachel and Mark Vaughn and former son-in-law Don Parrish of Wilmington. Eva was a sister to Pearl, George, Henry, Lillie, Laurie, Lela, Annie, Violet and Fred and an aunt and cousin to many.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Chester Davis in 1985, one son Marc Davis in 1996 and second husband Ronald Heiman in 2007.

Visitation will be held on Monday February 04, 2008 from 5:00PM until time of funeral service 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Deacon Donald Dyer will officiate. Burial and graveside services will follow on Thursday February 07, 2008 at 12:00 Noon in Miller Cemetery in Denver, Missouri.
