Age 102 of Wilmington and formerly of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Ferndale, Washington, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Regency Care of Morris.

Born July 16, 1913 in Opdyke, Illinois, Eunice Leon was a daughter of the late Edward Ransom and Augusta Lee (Richardson) Storment. On September 5, 1931, Eunice married Russell Ore in Nashville, Tennessee, and together they resided in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Ferndale, Washington and Wilmington, Illinois. In her younger years, Eunice worked at a dress factory, shoe factory and fabric shop. It was after her children were born that she became a homemaker and always said that the best years of her life were when her children were little. Eunice was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Wilmington and will be remembered for her love of sewing, canning, cooking, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. In her later years Eunice took pleasure in watching the television broadcast of Robert Schuller at the Crystal Cathedral in California, and it remained a highlight of her week.

Survivors include her children: Carol J. Robinson of Gardner, Evelyn L. (Jim) Jones of Springfield and Doris K. Alderson of Coal City; grandchildren: Russelle (Brent) Holsinger of Columbus, Ohio, Charles (Toni) Peitzmeyer of Edwardsville, Robert Robinson of Gardner, William Robinson of Gardner, Connie (Steve) Wallace of Chester and Carrie (Dan) Held of Morrisonville; (13) great grandchildren; (5) great-great grandchildren; one sister Nadine Luke of Bullhead City, Arizona, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as special friend Margaret Fielder of Wilmington.

Eunice was preceded in death by her parents Ransom and Augusta Lee Storment; step-mother Leona Coker; husband Russell, and one brother Oren Otho Storment.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 12:00 noon. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Rev. Bradley Shumaker from the Coal City United Methodist Church will officate.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband Russell.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be: Chuck Peitzmeyer, Robert Robinson, William Robinson, Brent Holsinger, Will Holsinger, Steve Wallace, Joseph Robinson, Jim Robinson, Stephen Wallace, Zane Wallace, Travis Robinson, Zac Peitzmeyer and Dan Held.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Eunice's memory to Angels of Hope, Inc. NFP.
