Ethel Barr

Age 84 of Wilmington, passed away Saturday November 7, 2009 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born August 6, 1925 in Elwood, Ethel was a daughter of the late John and Mary Bobak-Kozak. She owned and operated Shar-Et Gifts and Crafts in Wilmington for many years and was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington and Women of the Moose St. Charles Chapter 512. Ethel truly enjoyed her family.

Survivors include her two loving children: Richard (the late Joan) Barr of St. Charles and Sharon Sexton of Conway, SC; six grandchildren: Douglas (Danny), Jody (Garth), Tracy (Trevor), Donald (Natalie), Alicia and Kristan (fiancAC. Jason); great grandchildren: Jacob, Brooks, Don, Jr., Cody, Lexi, Garrett, Aiden and Logan and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including special nephew J.G. (Terri) Cairns and special friend Rose Smith.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husband John and eight brother and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 11, 2009 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM and Thursday November 12th from 9:00AM until 9:30AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 10:00AM in St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Steve Bondi and Deacon Don Dyer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Ethel's memory to Kuzma Care Cottage, 635 S. Main Street, Wilmington, Illinois 60481.
