Esther Farrero

Esther A. Farrero

Age 92 of Los Angeles, California, and formerly of Coal City, passed away Wednesday January 23, 2019 at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Born October 5, 1926 in Coal City, Esther Ann was the daughter of John "Morey" Farrero and Anna "Norma" (nee Jacklich) Goldie. She was raised and educated in Coal City, and graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 1945.

Esther worked as an administrative secretary for the United States Government for most of her professional life. This job took her across the country as well as around the globe. Esther's most significant posting was under General Omar Bradley. The travel that her job came with allowed her to broaden her horizons and grow a budding appreciation for the arts. Esther had a profound love of photography, and took a camera with her on all of her trips so she could take photographs and save all the memories of a life truly well lived.

Survivors include her two nephews, two great nephews and several cousins.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: John "Rip" Farrero and David "Rip" Farrero; and her half brother: Hugh "Babe" Goldie.

Per Esther's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Braidwood.
