Emma Lopez-Gonzalez

Age 86 of Coal City passed away Sunday July 13, 2014 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born January 19, 1928 in Feisbin, Texas, Emma was a daughter of the late Natalia and Jose Estrada. She was raised and educated in Mexico, and on January 15, 1950, Emma married the late Jesus Lopez-Gonzalez. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and will be remembered for her love of cooking and knitting, as well as playing bingo and going to the casino.

Emma is survived by her six children: Jesus (Carmen) Lopez and Yolanda (Jose) Gonzalez, both of Bolingbrook, Esther (Domingo) Gutierrez and Virginia (Richard) Barajas, both of Houston, Texas, John Lopez of Chicago and Emma (Dominic) Sandei of Braidwood; twenty grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; one brother: Marcelino Estrada of Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jesus in 2007, parents, siblings: Joel, Raquel and Irma and daughter-in-law Sue Lopez.

Visitation will be on Thursday July 17, 2014 between the hours of 4:00 and 9:00 PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral Services will follow on Friday July 18 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Reverend Robert Noesen will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Braidwood.
