Emil J. "Zig" Micono
Age 77 of Coal City, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Embassy Care Center in Wilmington.
Born September 5, 1928, Emil was a son of the late Frank and Anne (Ulivi) Micono. He was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated Coal City High School in 1946. On August 14, 1948, Emil married Beverly Ravnaas in Assumption Catholic Church and together they lived their married life in Tempe, AZ, Huntington Beach and San Diego, CA, and Worthington, OH, until they returned back home to Coal City in 2000. Emil was a member of the Grayslake Masonic Lodge and had been an employee of Streeter a�" Amet Company as a service manager, and at Cardinal Scale as a sales representative.
Survivors include his wife Beverly, one daughter Shirley (Paul) Brown of Twin Lakes, WI; four grandchildren: Scott (Carolyn) Schmidt of Genoa City, WI, Romeo Brown, Sebastian Brown and Abigail Brown of Twin Lakes, WI; two brothers-in-law: Thomas Campbell of Woodburn, OR and Bernard Ravnaas of Sandwich, IL, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Emil was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Laverne Campbell and Gloria Pierard.
A memorial service will be held on Monday April 2nd, 2007 at the Coal City United Methodist Church at 2:30PM with with Dr. Thomas Logsdon officiating. Family will begin greeting friends at 1:30pm at the Church. A luncheon will follow and private interment will take place at a later date.
