Age 85 of Coal City, passed away Saturday October 23, 2010 at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born August 6, 1925 in Coal City, Emil was a son of the late Batista and Amelia Peletti-Bates. He was raised and educated in Coal City and and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Emil worked at A.P. Green Company until retirement and was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City. Emil can be remembered for his love of gardening and fishing, and he truly enjoyed following his grandchildren's school and sporting events. He was also a true Chicago Cubs fan.

Survivors include his two daughters: Sharon (Dick) Bell of Texas and Kathy (Ron) Kessler of Coal City; five grandchildren: Danielle Cantu, Laurel Cantu, Carla (Dave) Thompson, Stephanie Kessler and Joe (Amy) Kessler; one great grandson Will Thompson; one great granddaughter Isabelle Kessler; one sister Violet (Dale) Morse and his sister-in-law Marie Taylor, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Emil was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Dale Morse.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 26, 2010 between the hours of 5:00PM and 8:00PM and Wednesday October 27th from 9:30AM until time of funeral service 10:30AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Reverend Robert Noesen will officiate and burial will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Emil's memory to the Coal City Food Pantry.
