Ellen Johnson

Age 89 of Joliet, passed away Wednesday January 8, 2014 at her home.

Born February 11, 1924 in Wilmington, Ellen was a daughter of the late Eno and Florence Powell-Johnson. She was raised and educated in Wilmington and retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company, from where she dedicated more than 40 years of service. Ellen greatly enjoyed volunteering and spent countless hours working with meals on wheels, in animal shelters and visiting nursing homes. She will be remembered for her tremendous love for animals.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday January 11, 2014 at 12:00 noon in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Ellen will be laid to rest with her parents.
