Elizabeth "Betty" Zerboglio

Age 75 of Coal City, passed away Wednesday November 12, 2014 the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.

Born September 4, 1939 in Coal City, Elizabeth Lynn was a daughter of the late Peter Paul and Bessie (Hejna) Zerboglio. She was a graduate of Coal City High School and went to work for APSA at the Joliet Arsenal in August of 1961. Her career moved her to Rock Island from where she retired from the US Government in July of 2003 after 42 years of service. Betty was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, and in her free time enjoyed: Sewing, playing bingo, and sports. Betty will be remembered as an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan who took pleasure in traveling and vacationing.

Survivors include her brother Robert (Gloria) Zerboglio and Charlene (Bill) Hicks, both of Coal City; nieces and nephews: Susan (Robert) Walsh, Lori (John) Halliday and Julie (Darren) Stiles, all of Coal City and Jennifer (Jeremy) Shaw of Rock Island; great nieces and great nephews: Kelli (Peter) Ogrodnik of New Lenox, Chris Walsh of Bloomington, Nicole Halliday of California, Kyle Halliday of Coal City, Colin Stiles of Champagne, Rebecca Stiles of Coal City and Alex Shaw and Peter Shaw, both of Rock Island.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Sunday November 16, 2014 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow Monday morning November 17th at 10:00 a.m. in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street in Coal City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Robert Noesen officiating.

Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery and pallbearers will be: Susan Walsh, Lori Halliday, Julie Stiles, Jennifer Shaw, Robert Walsh, John Halliday, Darren Stiles and Jeremy Shaw.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Betty's memory to the Assumption Building Fund, 195 South Kankakee Street, Coal City, Illinois 60416.
