"Betty"

Age 84 of Wilmington, passed away Friday November 16, 2007 at Sunny Hill Rehabilitation Center in Joliet, after a long illness, with her son and daughter at her side.

Born February 18, 1923 in Channahon, Betty was a daughter of the late Michael and Barbara Benko. She was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington for numerous years and farmed in the Wilmington area with her late husband Lester "Jim" Aagesen. Betty was a devoted wife and mother, and in her free time she enjoyed gardening, cooking and being with her family.

Survivors include her loving children: James R. (Mary Lou) Aagesen and Georgia Aagesen, both of Wilmington. Five grandchildren: Jason (Jill) Sellers of North Carolina, Alicia (Bob) Bolser of Wilmington, Erin (Greg) Rodil of New Lenox, Sarah Aagesen of Wisconsin and James Zachary Aagesen of Wilmington. Two great grandchildren: Brock and Piper Elizabeth; three dear sisters: Katherine Kennedy of Wilmington and Ann Ruhnau and Lillian Fortman, both of Downers Grove.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lester "Jim" Aagesen, three brothers: Tony, Joseph and Leonard Banks and three sisters: Rosemary Gretz, Josephine Forshay and Mary Jadrick.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 20, 2007 between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Wednesday November 21st at 10AM in Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Gerald Schubert officiating.

Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Elwood.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Betty's memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431.

Funeral services and arrangements are under the direction of Reeves Funeral Home in Wilmington. (815/476-7621)
