Eleanor Rose Walencik

Age 95 of Norman Township, Morris and formerly Chicago and Downers Grove, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at her home.

Born December 17, 1915 in Cuyuna, MN, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Anton and Marie Neihaus-Besta. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Chicago, and on July 6, 1940, Eleanor married John E. Walencik in Chicago at the Congregational Church. Together they lived in Chicago and the suburbs prior to moving to Grundy County in 1988. Eleanor was a member of the flower club in Hinsdale and in her free time enjoyed beekeeping with her late husband.

Survivors include her two children: John Walensik, Jr. of Morris and Karen (James) Boeck of Frankfort; one granddaughter Valerie Sargent of Seattle and nieces and nephews: Geraldine, Audrey, Victoria, Carol, Barb, Mike and Daniel.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; husband John in 2004; and one brother Jerome Besta.

Per Eleanor's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

The family will receive friends on Monday November 7, 2011 from 10:00AM until time of memorial service 10:30AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Pastor Matt Troester will officiate.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Eleanor's memory to The Morris Hospital Patient Transportation Bus or Grundy County Senior Citizens Services.
