Age 79 of Wilmington, passed away Thursday evening November 22, 2012 at Hines VA Hospital with his loving family at his side.

Born September 5, 1933 in Batesville, Mississippi, C. Edward Sullivan was a son of the late Allen and Alice Logan-Sullivan. He was raised and educated in Batesville and was a proud Korean War Veteran of the United States Army. Ed worked as an over the road truck driver for more than 30 years and held employment with Suburban Teamsters, Central States and Liquid Transporters/Trimac. He also owned and operated the Remember When Inn in Wilmington for over 17 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 179, The Veterans of Foreign Wars and the AF&AM (Masons) Lodge #208 in Wilmington. Ed enjoyed visiting the casino's, playing golf, fishing and bird watching. He could often be found tinkering and taking things apart, as well as spending time with his beloved Markee. Ed will be remembered for his great love of learning.

Survivors include his loving wife and soulmate Joyce (nee Fleming), whom he spent more than 41 years with and was married to for over 27 years; step-son Bob Addleman of Wilmington; K9 Yorkie son Markee; daughters: Sonja and Kami; sister-in-law: Rita Sullivan of Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, including special nephews: George "Bubba" Sullivan of Mississippi and Michael J. Sullivan of Wilmington and niece Debbie, and various cousins including his special cousin Gary (Janice) Tenns of California, as well as dear friends Marci (the late Jim) Rynearson.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; step-son Michael James Smith; brothers: Doug, Jim, Glenn and William; sister Emma; mother and father-in-law: William and Catherine Fleming and brother-in-law William J. Fleming.

The family wishes to extend special appreciation to the physicians at both Hines and Loyola, as well as the nursing staff at Hines, especially Simeon. Your special and attentive care will forever be remembered.

The family will receive friends on Monday November 26, 2012 from 4:00PM until time of Masonic Services 7:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services will then follow Tuesday November 27th at 1:00PM in the funeral home with Pastor Ron Taylor from Island City Baptist Church officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Ed's memory to his wife for her distribution to local charities of the families choosing.
