Edith Marie Kinsella

Age 91 of Wilmington and formerly of Coal City, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

Born February 22, 1925 in Coal City, Edith Marie was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Edith (Gervase) Brancato. She was raised and educated in Galesburg and Coal City, and graduated from Coal City High School. On August 4, 1951, Edith married William N. Kinsella in Coal City. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where she involved with the CCW, and worked at UniRoyal for 10 years until her retirement in 1977. Edith enjoyed cooking, baking, antiquing, furniture refinishing, tending to her flowers, and keeping up on what was going on in the world and politics. Above all, family was of most importance to Edith, and she had an immense love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her three children: Maureen (Michael) Keating of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Nicholas (Linda) Kinsella of Morris and Gina (Robert) Staehely of Shorewood; nine grandchildren: Robert (Jill) Kinsella, Anna Kinsella (fiance' Todd Milbourn), Shane (April) Gilbertson, Brandon Gilbertson, Michael (Amy) Keating, Ashley Keating, Matt Staehely, Cody Staehely and Rich Salvatore; nine great grandchildren; one sister-in-law Avis Brancato and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband William; brothers and sisters: Margaret (Edwin) Viglia, Sarah Brancato, George (Ruth) Brancato and Sam Brancato and brothers and sisters-in-law: Edwin (Ethel) Kinsella, John (Marilyn) Kinsella, Jerry (Kathleen) Kinsella, Maurice Kinsella and Mary (George) Rademacher.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 11:00 a.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City (815-634-2125). Pastor Kevin Yandell will officiate.

Burial will follow Tuesday, March 15th in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, where Edith will be laid to rest with her late husband William.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Edith's memory to Alzheimer's Association of America, Joliet Hospice or The Mark Staehely Pediatric Foundation.
