Age 76 of Watseka, Illinois and formerly of Springfield, Illinois, Morris, Illinois and Wilmington, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Watseka Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born March 23, 1947 in Springfield, Edith was a daughter of John Glenn, Jr. and Mary Pauline (Oschwald) Tarr. She was raised and educated in Springfield and graduated from Springfield High School. Edith went on to attend Blackburn College and made her career working as a Residential Counselor for a Community Home, most recently Trinity Services.
Edith was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wilmington and was an avid quilter. She enjoyed making beautiful creations not just on her own, but also in quilting groups she would meet with.
Survivors include her daughter, Heidi Hess (Dan Longest) ; granddaughter, Mykila; grandson; Blake Longest; two brothers: David and Jonathan Tarr and three sisters, Ruth E. Tarr, Janice Leach and Barbara Hobson.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Family and friends are welcome to gather for a memorial visitation at Grace Lutheran Church 907 Luther Drive in Wilmington on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made as gifts in Edith's memory to Grace Lutheran Church or Lutheran World Relief.
