Earl Brooks

Earl Brooks

Age 92, of Wilmington and formerly Avondale, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

He was the husband of the late Carrie Miller Brooks who passed away in 2004 and with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.

Born in Piney Creek, NC he was the son of the late Emory and Frona Ham Brooks.

A veteran, he served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army.

He worked for various growers in the mushroom industry and enjoyed hunting, fishing and walking.

Survivors include his son Dennis E. Brooks and daughter, Arlene L. (James) Hankins of Wilmington; one brother, Lester; and two sisters, Berlia and Neva; and one granddaughter, Tracy Harding.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth and four brothers, Paul, Lee, Warren, and Dean.

Funeral services were held at 11:00AM on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Foulk & Grieco Funeral Home, 200 Rose Hill Road, West Grove, Pennsylvania (610-869-2685).

Interment followed in Oxford Cemetery, 226 N. Third Street, Oxford, PA 19363.

Local arrangements were made under the direction of Reeves Funeral Home in Wilmington. (815/476/7621)
