Dwayne Edward Haemker

Age 59 of Symerton, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Born on January 24, 1965, Dwayne is a son of Doris (Haemker) Yehling of Wilmington. He grew up in Chicago Heights and went on to build a respected career with the Boilermakers Local One out of Chicago, where he was a dedicated and hardworking employee.

On July 15, 1989, Dwayne married Lynn Hlinko. Together, they made a home in Symerton and raised their family. Dwayne's life was filled with the joy of simple pleasures. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, and his love for the outdoors, grilling, and cruising around in his golf cart brought him a great deal of happiness. He also had a passion for woodworking.

Above all, Dwayne cherished his time with his family, especially his grandkids, who were the light of his life. His love and loyalty were unmatched, and he was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Known as a jack of all trades, Dwayne could fix or build just about anything, and his honesty and dependability were his hallmarks.

Dwayne leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and hard work. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud papa whose greatest joy was being with his family. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Lynn; children: Heather Haemker (Ryan McKinney) of Coal City and Eddie Haemker (Kimberly Barton) of Symerton; two grandchildren, Addison Pellack and Caleb Haemker; his mother, Dee; one brother, Ricky Haemker; two sisters: Missy (Pat) Wheeler and Robin Tutterow; one sister-in-law, Chris (Brian) Carlisle of Lansing, Illinois; several nieces and nephews, and his dear life-long friends: John Goodwin, David Crandall and Ernie Heiser, as well as beloved garage cat, Mac.
