Age 34 of Plainfield, passed away July 29, 2014 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.

Born November 9, 1979, Dustin Lee, is a son of Mark and Deborah (Moore) McCormick. He was a 1998 graduate of Plainfield HS and proudly served in the US Air Force. Dusty was a member of the VFW, and was active and involved with the Wounded Warrior Project. He was a professional paintballer, and an avid Chicago White Sox and Bears fan. Dusty will be remembered as a loyal friend, as well as a father who dearly loved his two daughters.

Survivors include his wife Lauren (nee McInerney); daughters Tera and Erica of Morris; parents: Mark McCormick of Joliet and Deborah McCormick of AZ; brothers: Jason (Marcy) Olmsted of Galesburg and Mark McCormick of Joliet; grandparents: Donald McCormick of Mazon, Bill (Nancy) Moore of MO and Shirley McInerney of Valparaiso; his aunt Terri Olsen of AZ; mother-in-law Mary Lou Hobe of Joliet; father-in-law Kevin D. McInerney of TX; sisters and brothers-in-law: Kimberly McInerney and Maureen (Jimmy) Summerfield, both of Indiana and Kevin J. McInerney and Aaron McInerney, both of Joliet; two nieces Addison and Leah, and numerous cousins and friends.

Dusty was preceded by his grandparents: Gwendolynn McCormick, Patrick McInerney, Doris Moore and Lillian and Louis Hobe; aunt Kathy Moorehead and uncle David Moore.

Visitation will be Monday August 4th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Tuesday August 5th at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.

Burial with full military honors will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Senior Airman Dusty McCormick's memory to The Wounded Warrior Project or to his family for their distribution.
