Age 93 and a lifelong resident of Morris, passed away peacefully Saturday March 26, 2011 at his home.

Born July 25, 1917 in Morris, Anthony was a son of the late Joseph and Anna Kein-Prombo. He was a graduate of Morris Community High School with the Class of 1936 and attended Chicago Barbers School. Tony worked as a barber prior to being inducted into the United States Army Air Corp and proudly served from 1941 until being honorably discharged in 1946. During World War II, Tony toured the China, Burma and India (CBI) Theater and worked as a medic. It was after the service that Tony then attended Palmer School of Optometry in Chicago. On June 29, 1942, Tony married Monica Tietke in Ontario, California and she preceded him in death on May 31, 1976. Tony was the proprietor of Tony's Barber Shop in Morris, in which he also practiced his Optometrist office within the same establishment for more than 25 years. He then went into real estate and was a broker until his retirement. It was on June 3, 1978 that Tony married Margaret Delrose in Morris and she survives. Tony was one of the original caddy's at Morris County Club, a charter member of the John Martin Steele VFW Post #6049 and a proud lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris. He can be remembered for his love of poker and will always live on as a die hard St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Survivors include his wife Margaret; eight children: Linda (Robert) Pogliano of Coal City, Edward (Karen) Prombo and Roseann (James) Tibbott, both of Morris, Gloria (Jeff) Hodge of New Lenox, Michael (Beth) Prombo of Palatine, Steven Prombo of Chicago, William (Terri Kay) Prombo of Morris and Christopher (Robin) Prombo of Waterloo, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren: Sara (Caleb) Moore, Justin (Christy) Olson, Jason (Ashley) Hodge, Michael (Jessica) Hodge, Monica (Kevin) Stewart, Matthew Prombo, Bob Pogliano, Dan Pogliano, Phillip Prombo, Andrew Prombo, Julie Prombo, Jay Prombo and Scott Prombo; ten great grandchildren; five step-children: Edie (Don) Pantol, Gary (Carla) Delrose, Brian (Wendy) Delrose, Mark (Lou Ann) Delrose and Paul (Dawn) Delrose; fifteen step-grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren and three brothers-in-law: Tom (Helen) Furto and Frank (Ann) Furto, both of Joliet and Anthony Mican of Indiana, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Monica; siblings: Stella Prombo-Renaud, Stanley, Joseph, Adam and John Prombo; step-grandson Nicholas Delrose and brother-in-law William Tietke

The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 30, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 514 East Jackson Street in Morris from 10:00AM until time of funeral service 11:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Ed Howe, CR officiating and inurnment will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Morris.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Tony's memory to the Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund, 516 East Jackson Street, Morris, Illinois 60450 or Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice, 518 West Illinois Avenue, Morris, Illinois 60450.
