Douglas Lutes
Age 65 of Coal City passed away Wednesday morning, March 2, 2016 at his home.
Born March 13, 1950 in Newport, Arkansas, Douglas Lynn was a son of the late Clyde and Elsie McSpadden-Lutes. He was raised and educated in Grundy County and attended Gardner South Wilmington High School. Douglas attended First Baptist Church of Coal City, and retired from Presence Health, where he worked at Villa Franciscan as the Director of Building Operations. Doug was proud of his “man cave”, and will be remembered for his enjoyment of riding his Harley, and restoring cars - especially his 1969 El Camino. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Leanne; four children: Jacqueline Thomas (fiance' Terry) of Coal City, Janine (Tim) Both of Godley, Chantel (Mike) Berg of Custer Park and Jennifer (Roy) Oleson of Coal City; thirteen grandchildren: Rebecca (Mike) Molenaar, Chelsey Flynn, Nicolas Thomas, Madyson Debelak, Allison Flynn, C.J. Berg, Colton Berg, Gunnar Berg, Payton Oleson, Azlyn Oleson, Faye Debelak, Dhane Debelak and Ayden Oleson; two great granddaughter: Mikenzee Molenaar and Bryleigh Berg; one brother: Norman (Belinda) Lutes of Coal City; one sister: Rebecca (Dean) Haldorson of Coal City; brothers and sisters-in-law: Pat (Mike) Clinton of Surprise, Arizona, Lorie (the late James) Hank of Wilmington, Mary (Mike) Langlois of New Lenox and Harry E. Swanson, Jr. of Gainesville, Florida as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Troy Lutes in infancy and one grandson: Ryan Oleson.
Visitation and video tribute will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 2:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Pastor Avery Wilson will officiate and cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
A private inurnment will be held in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Doug's memory to his family for their distribution.
