Dorvin Bever
"Bud"
Age 80 of Washington Island, Wisconsin and formerly Wilmington, passed away peacefully Thursday February 21, 2008 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in Joliet.
Born November 23, 1927 in Enterprise, Kansas, Bud was a son of the late Russell and Laura Hart Bever. He was a 1945 graduate of Enterprise High School and then attended Kansas State University. Bud was inducted in the United States Navy and served during World War II, being honorably discharged in 1948. He married Mary Peterson and then became a Metalurgist, later working as a sheet metalist until his retirement in 1990. While living in Wilmington, Bud was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church of Wilmington, where he served as choir director, was a member of the award winning McAllister American Legion Band in Joliet, was past Grand Master of the Wilmington Masonic Lodge, member of the Crazy 8 plus 1, and belonged to the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #205.
Survivors include his loving wife Mary nee Peterson; two sons: Reginald (Sally) Bever and Russell (Sara) Bever, both of Alaska; three daughters: Celestine Vana of Custer Park and Christine (Tom) Crutchfield and Mary Lou (Jim) Aagesen, both of Wilmington. (12) Grandchildren, (9) Great Grandchildren, one sister Betty (Gilbert) Lundeen of Kansas and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Imogene.
Visitation will be held on Monday February 25, 2008 from 6:00PM until time of Masonic Services 7:30PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington.
A private family interment will follow.
Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Bud's memory to the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431.
