Age 82 of Essex, was called home and graduated to her heavenly mansion on Saturday, October 14, 2017.

Born October 21, 1934 in Ramsey, Illinois, Dorothy Ruth was a daughter of Ora Everett and Elsie May (Carlock) McCaslin. She was raised and educated in the country schools of Fayette County, Illinois.

Sister Dorothy was currently pastoring the Wilmington Pentecostal Church (Harvest Worship Center) on Route 53 in Wilmington, where she led the congregation for the past 15 years.

Dorothy, having been raised on a farm, loved the outdoors. She enjoyed fishing, flowers, gardening, and watching any form of wildlife. She was a strong woman of faith, who spent her life praising God. Dorothy lived and breathed praise, and was truly blessed every day that she lived.

Dorothy is the mother of Billy LeRoy Waldron, the late Gary Lee Waldon and his late wife Jackie, and Neta Dunn-Mihovilovich and her husband James Mihovilovich, Sr. of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. Grandmother of Dawn (Mark) Gomilla of Appleton, WI, Amber (John) Turner of Battle Creek, MI, Jason Matthew Smothers of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Crystal (Matt) Doss of Coal City, and Joshua (Megan) Smothers of Winthrop Harbor, IL; great grandmother of Blaine, Claire, Regan and Delaney; sister to the late Blanche and Kenneth Kay, Bill and Imogene McCaslin of Texas, Velma and the late Jim Rhodes, and Angie and Charles Carr both of Wilmington, the late Reynold and Dorothy Eller, Eva Jane and the late Alvin “Sonny” Saunders of Pana, IL and the late Caroline and James R. “Pete” Kay. Dorothy was also an aunt and cousin, as well as a friend to many.

Visitation will be held at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington on Saturday October 21, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Life Celebration and Home Going Service at 12:00 p.m.

Dorothy will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.

Pallbearers will be: James Mihovilovich, Sr., Jason Smothers, Joshua Smothers, John Turner, Matthew Doss, Mark Gomilla and Blaine Doss.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Dorothy’s memory to the Wilmington Pentecostal Church / Harvest Worship Center, 32111 South State Route 53, Wilmington, IL 60481.
