Dorothy M. O'Kane Age 94 of Morris and formerly Fox Lake, passed away Tuesday September 16, 2008 at Morris Hospital. Born September 15, 1914 in Monroe, Wisconsin, Dorothy was a daughter of the late William and Izora Van Horn a�" Nowatzki. On June 12, 1937 Dorothy married Charles V. O'Kane in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Chicago, and he preceded her in death in 1993. She was a former resident of Leisure Village in Fox Lake, where she belonged to the Pioneers Club, and was a current parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris. In her free time Dorothy truly enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include one daughter Dorothy (Joseph) Nyhoff of Morris; one son Michael (Nadine) O'Kane of Milwaukee; four grandchildren: Pamela (Ron) Burton of Pingree Grove, Illinois, Colleen (Michael) Ward and Kevin (Cindy) Nyhoff, both of Morris and Amelia (Dr. Dale) Wren of Peoria; seven great grandchildren: Ellery, Jessica, Nichole, Brenton, Hollyn, Jacob and Caleb; one brother Richard (Aida) Nowatzki of California and one sister-in-law Mary Lou Nowatzki of Wisconsin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents William and Izora Nowatzki, husband Charles, two brothers: Paul and William Nowatzki and one sister Marian Dean. Visitation will be held on Thursday September 18, 2008 between the hours of 6:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (One block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris and on Saturday September 20th from 9:00AM until 10:00AM at Beverly Ridge Funeral Home, 10415 S. Kedzie Avenue in Chicago. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Saturday September 20th, at 10:30AM in Saint Christina Catholic Parish, 11005 S. Homan Avenue in Chicago and burial will be in Holy Sepluchre Cemetery in Worth. Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Dorothy's memory to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund, 516 East Jackson Street, Morris, Illinois 60450.
