DOROTHY "DOTTY" NAGENGAST

Age 84 of Morris and formerly Coal City, passed away Sunday August 14, 2005 at Morris Hospital.

Born November 06, 1920 in New York City, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Lewis and Margaret (Meszaros) Gertner. She was raised and educated in New Jersey and graduated from Perth Amboy High School in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. After high school Dotty worked in a dental office and on November 20, 1941 she married George Nagengast in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. It was in the mid 1960's that Dotty and George moved to the Coal City and Morris area, where they lived the remainder of their married life. Dotty was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, prior to moving to Morris. She was active organizing monthly trips for Morris and Coal City Senior Citizens. Dotty loved to cook, sew and paint ceramics, as well as craft for the local senior citizens.

Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years George; one son William of California; two grandsons: Christopher Nagengast of Peoria and Billy Nagengast of Italy; one great grandson Kale; one brother Leslie Gertner of New York; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and one adopted daughter E. Terry Egeland of Morris, as well as her godson Sean Egeland.

Dotty was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Alan and Kevin and one sister Catherine.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 16, 2005 between the hours of 4:00PM and 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (1 Block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Funeral Mass will follow on Wednesday August 17th at 11:00AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris. A private family burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Morris.

Pallbearers will be: Christopher Nagengast, Sean Egeland, Larry Egeland, Michael Behm, Jason Smith and James Zelinko.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Dotty's name to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund: 516 E. Jackson St., Morris, IL 60450.
