Donnie Davidson

Age 60 of Morris, Illinois died Tuesday evening June 20, 2023 after beating cancer, but losing his battle with Corticobasal Degeneration.

Born October 17, 1962 in Charente-Maritime, France, Donald Arthur Davidson, Jr. was a son of Donald Arthur Davidson and Nicole Raymonde Desiree. He was raised in Morris; graduated from Morris High School with the Class of 1980 and went on to attend Western Illinois University.

Donnie worked for the Smith Farms and Smith Machinery for many years, and was a fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox. He enjoyed NASCAR, and loved spending time with his children and grandkids when visiting.

Survivors include his children: Cody (Shaina) Davidson of Buckholts, Texas and Devan Hyden (Travis) and Haley Brimer, both of Leander, Texas; six grandchildren: Aeric, Maddie, Mykalah, Tristan, Wyatt and Luna, with another on the way; brother, Chuck (Sarah) Maierhofer of Marseilles and sisters: Carla (Fernando) Villarreal of Morris, Christy (Brian) Heck of San Tan Valley, Arizona and Renee (Daniel) Tondini of Morris; his ‘Lifetime mom’, Becky Morfey, and lifelong best friend, Cathy Enger, both of Morris, and his good friends and employers: Bill and Mary Smith of Minooka, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents: Mother, Nicole (1963), father Donald (2020); sister, Tina Davidson (1984) and son, Benjamin Davidson (2015).

Cremation rites have been accorded.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation and celebration of life open house at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block east of Illinois Route 47) in Morris on Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Donnie will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery in Morris with his father at a later date.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Donnie’s memory to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or to Lightways Hospice.
