Donna Jean Collier

Age 67 of Carbon Hill, passed away Friday evening November 27, 2009 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

Born November 27, 1942, Donna is a daughter of Evelyn C. (nee Liberty) and the late William J. Phillips. She was a graduate of Coal City High School with the Class of 1960 and in July of 1966, Donna married Lee W. Collier in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Donna worked as a beautician her entire life and was a member of the Carbon Hill Women's Club. She was involved with the Coal City Cub Scout Pack 466 and also volunteered with Easter Seals and The Special Olympics. Donna was known for her love of baking and enjoyed traveling, as well as the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her mother Evelyn C. Phillips, husband Lee; five children: Robert J. (Terri) Collier of Deatsville, Alabama, Chris (Brenda) Collier of Coal City, Jonathon (Toni) Collier of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Phillip (Cassie) Collier of Coal City and Cathy Collier of Joliet; seven grandchildren: Ashley, Robert Jr., Ryan, Baylee, Amanda and Brenden Collier, as well as one expected granddaughter in the weeks ahead; one sister: Pat (Richard) Zelinko of Coal City; one brother William Phillips of Orion, Illinois; one brother-in-law: Tom Collier of Las Vegas, Nevada; her aunt and uncle: Peggy and LeRoy Haake of Coal City, and seven nieces and nephews: Joanne (Mike) Morrall of Morris, Jeff (Julie) Zelinko of Coal City, Doug (Kristi) Phillips of South Wilmington, Allison (Jeff) Post and Carrie (Brian) Bush, both of Florida, Matt (Angie) Phillips of Coal City and Adam (Kris) Phillips of Goose Lake.

Donna was preceded in death by her father William J. Phillips and one brother Donald Phillips.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Tuesday December 01, 2009 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday December 2nd at 9:30AM in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Robert Noesen officiating.

Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood and pallbearers will be: Jeff Zelinko, Mike Morrall, Bobby Phillips, Terry Phillips, Matt Phillips, Adam Phillips, Ed Christensen and Ken Mack.
