Donald Robert Ulivi

"Duck"

Age 78 of Coal City, passed away Wednesday October 22, 2008 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born October 20, 1930 in Coal City, Duck was a son of the late B.J. "Red" and Irene Gerin-Ulivi. He was a graduate of Coal City High School with the Class of 1948 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. On December 14, 1952 Duck married Dorothy M. Vigliocco in Presque Isle, Maine. Together Duck and Dorothy lived in Coal City, most of their married life and were fortunate enough to spend 13 years wintering in the Florida Keys. Dorothy preceded Duck in death on January 06, 2008. Duck worked in the furniture business and was involved with Ulivi Gas Company until his retirement. He was very active with the Coal City Fire Department for over 55 years, during which he served as Fire Chief for many years, and lastly as an advisor. Duck's primary interests were the fire department, fishing and playing cards.

Survivors include: two sons: David (Mary) Ulivi and Dean (Kathy) Ulivi, both of Coal City; five granddaughters: Katie, Kari, Kimberly, Jennifer and Heather and one sister Delores (Bob) Martis of Coal City.

The family will receive friends on Sunday October 26, 2008 from 2:00PM until time of Memorial Service 4:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Dr. Thomas Logsdon from the Coal City United Methodist Church will officiate and a private interment will follow per the Duck's wishes.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Duck's memory to Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
