Dolores Burton

Age 92 of Coal City, passed away peacefully Sunday May 10, 2009 at home.

Born June 04, 1916 in Sailor Springs, Illinois, Dolores was a daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Bell Fitzgerald-Colclasure. She was a member of Island City Baptist Church in Wilmington and greatly enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading the Bible, using her computer, cooking, baking and being with her family.

Survivors include her loving children: Laura (the late Frank) Burke of Coal City, Ines (Byron) Barr of Rinard, Illinois and John Harvey, Jr. (Erin) Burke; one brother Dale (Hazel) Colclasure of Burnt Prairie, Illinois; grandchildren: John P. Burke, Robert A. Burke, Brett (Cindy) Barr, Dolores D. Mizer and Samantha, David, Jeffrey, Jacob and Jade Burton; four great grandchildren: Aimee Barr and Megan, Brandy and Hunter Burton and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as several other children Delores loved and raised.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, husband John H. Burton, Sr. and numerous brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 13, 2009 from 5:00PM until time of funeral service 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Pastor Ron Taylor from Island City Baptist Church will officiate.

Dolores will then be taken to Fairfield, Illinois where there will be a visitation on Thursday May 14th from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at Johnson-Vaughn Funeral Home, 106 NE 4th Street in Fairfield (618/842-6006)

Burial will follow in Burnt Prairie Cemetery.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Dolores' memory to Island City Baptist Church, 120 Vine Street, Wilmington, IL 60481.
