Della Mae Calhoun

Age 80 of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday afternoon, July 28, 2016.

Born February 14, 1936 in Wesley Township, Della Mae was a daughter of the late Francis O. and Anna M. Harding-Warriner. She was raised and educated in Wilmington, and on April 24, 1957, Della Mae married Raymond E. Calhoun in Joliet. She was a member of the Ritchey United Methodist Church and will be remembered for her loved of jigsaw puzzles and especially bingo.

Survivors include two children: Mary Calhoun and Charles (Julie) Calhoun, both of Wilmington; one grandson Rayme (Tina) Calhoun; two great grandchildren: Kaileigh Calhoun and Cody Ehrsam; one brother Jimmie Warriner of Wilmington and one sister Mary Lou (Norm) Fanning of Elwood, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Della was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray; siblings: Francis A. Warriner, Martha Bishop, Gene and Mary Warriner, Dale Warriner, Ruth and Ray Skrowronski and Glen in infancy.

Cremation rites are being accorded and a memorial visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington.

A private family inurnment will be in Wesley Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Della’s memory to Kuzma Care Cottage.
