Age 69 of Gardner and formerly of Romeoville, passed away Friday June 12, 2015 following an extended illness.

Born August 8, 1945 in Long Beach, California, Delphy John was a son of the late Delphy and Catherine (Sherman) Wasso.

A former volunteer fireman and retired Teamster, Del was devoted to his Whippet’s. He was a founding member of the MWRA Whippet Club and belonged to the Greater Chicago Whippet Club.

Survivors include his wife Maggie (nee Kendrick) whom he married December 21, 1993; daughter Lorrie (Chris) Johnson of Henderson, Nevada; sons: Delphy J. (Audra) Wasso of Freeport, Illinois and Jim (Sally) Knudsen of Channahon, and six grandchildren.

Del was preceded in death by his parents and aunt Helen Wasso.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial will be held at a late date with inurnment in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Romeoville.
