David Earl Super

Age 64 of Hodgkins and formerly Coal City, passed away Monday October 25, 2010 at his home.

Born February 11, 1946 in Joliet, David was a son of the late Lawrence Bernard and Irene Marie Copeland-Super. He was raised and educated in Coal City, graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 1966 and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. David was a member of the United Auto Workers and worked at General Motors Electro-Motive Division for 35 years until his retirement in 2002. David can be remembered for his love of fishing and spending time with his friends.

Survivors include three sons: David Charles (Renee) Super of Coal City, Shawn Bernard Super of Carbon Hill and Brian Scott Super of Coal City; five grandchildren: Ashley, Caitlyn, Lakin, Jenna and Connor; one brother Lawrence (Geraldine) Super of Channahon; one sister Patricia Gutzman of Coal City; one sister-in-law Rosemarie Super of Arizona and several nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents and one brother James Super.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 27, 2010 between the hours of 5:00PM and 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City.

Burial with Full Military Honors will follow Thursday October 28th at 11:00AM in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Family and friends wishing to attend are asked to join together at the funeral home at 9:30AM.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in David's memory to the Disabled Veteran's.
