David William Sterba
Age 35 of Mazon, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday September 29, 2007.
Born September 07, 1972 in Morris, David is the son of the late Dianna Lynn (Hintze) Sterba and James and Catherine (Dearth) Sterba of rural Mazon. He was raised and educated in Mazon, having graduated from Mazon Grade School and Mazon High School with the Class of 1990. David worked as a cement mason in the Grundy County and surrounding areas and was a member of the Cement Masons Local Union #11. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his father and stepmother James and Catherine (Dearth) Sterba of rural Mazon; brother Barry (Molly) Sterba of Coal City; children: Aiden Sterba and Audrey Sterba and their mother Jessie Sterba, all of Tomaha, Wisconsin; maternal grandmother Darlene Hintze of Mazon; step-brother Jason (Kelly) Dearth of Coal City and step-sisters: Eva (David) Black of Coal City and Sheila Dearth and Susan (Ron) Thompson, both of Morris, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
David was preceded in death by his mother Dianna Lynn (Hintze) Sterba in 1997; grandfather William Hintze, Jr. and paternal grandparents: Charles and Ruth Sterba.
Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Wednesday October 03, 2007 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow on Thursday October 4th at 10:00AM in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Mike Pennock officiating.
Burial will be in Mazon Brookside Cemetery and pallbearers will be: Lucas Hintze, Micah Hintze, Troy Harty, Tony Cryder, Larry Cryder and Terry Oxendine.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in David's memory to his family for distribution to local charities of their choice.
