David E. Peterson

David E. Peterson, 71, of Morris, passed away unexpectedly at home Sunday, September 17, 2023.
He was born in Morris, Illinois on September 15, 1952 to Eugene and Arlene (Ecker) Peterson. He graduated from Newark Community High School in 1970 and Joliet Junior College in 1972.
After college, he was employed by Caterpillar Tractor in Oswego until his retirement in 2004. Dave was an avid Cardinals fan and he also attended all Morris High School football games for 40 years. He was loved by all that met him and his laughter would fill the room.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lori; son James (Dana) Peterson of Roanoke, VA; step daughters, Elise (Jacob) Doss of Morris, IL and Tracy Serna of Kewanee, IL; 11 grandchildren. 4 great-grandchildren; brothers Gregory Peterson of Minooka and Bruce Peterson of Joliet; sister, Barbara (David) Fonck of Marseilles, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Arlene Peterson, in-laws, Clarence and Lorna Paulsen, sister-in-law, Becky Peterson, nephew Aaron Hootman.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Lu Cantrell officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials can be made in Dave’s name to donor’s choice.
