David Loveland, Sr.

Age 66 of Essex, and formerly of Wilmington, Illinois, died Friday, January 21, 2022 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Illinois.

Born September 10, 1955 in Joliet, Illinois, David was a son of Edgar and Irene (Cohoon) Loveland. He was raised and educated in Wilmington, and on March 16, 1973, David married Pam Norman in Joliet, Illinois.

Dave worked for Loaders Croaklan for 42 years, and in his free time he enjoyed fishing and watching sports and old Westerns on TV. Family was of utmost importance, and Dave cherished spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife, Pam; five children: Chris (Jennifer) Loveland of Wilmington, Shannon Garrelts of Essex, David, Jr. (April) Loveland of Verona, Jessica Palmer of Braidwood and Donald Loveland of Diamond; (11) grandchildren: Gracie Loveland, Joshua Garrelts, Matthew Garrelts, Uriah Loveland, Katelyn Loveland, Avery Loveland, Danica Loveland, Xander Loveland, Sophie Palmer, Christian Palmer and Ava Palmer; six great grandchildren; two brothers: James (Patricia) Loveland of Braidwood and Roger (Kim) Loveland of Channahon, and one sister: Valerie Loveland of Kentucky.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, one son, C.J. Loveland, and two brothers: Richard Loveland and Lee Loveland.

Per Dave’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
