David Michael Krause

Age 76 of Wilmington passed away peacefully Sunday, March 30, 2014, at his son’s home in Goose Lake, with his family at his side.

Born May 27, 1937 in Chicago, David was the son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth Stepan-Krause. He was raised and educated in Chicago, where on May 27, 1956, David married Jacqueline Smetana. He worked as a salesman in the tobacco industry, and was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City. David, who will be remembered as “Goose” by many of his friends, truly enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an honorary member of the Grundy Bottoms Hunting Club.

Survivors include his three children: David (Cynthia) Krause of Minooka, Debra (Don) Kevish of Allegan, Michigan and Jeffrey (Charlene) Krause of Goose Lake; twelve grandchildren: Jenny (Cole) Herron, Kristen (Bob) Armbrister, John Krause, Kimberly Krause, Kelsey Krause, Kailee Krause, Michael (Jennifer) Dodge, Ryan Dodge, Lauren Krause, Jeffrey Krause, Kyle Krause and Emmi Krause; (11) Great grandchildren; two sisters: Darlene Krause and Madeleine (Nick) Hernandez both of Homer Glen, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his loving and very faithful dog Jack.

David was preceded in death by his parents and spouse Jacqueline on May 25, 2008.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning April 2, 2014 at 10:00AM in Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 710 West Marion Street in Joliet. Reverend Pete Jankowski will officiate and burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in David’s memory to a Humane Society of the donor’s choosing.
