David Anderson

David James Anderson

Age 69 of Chicago and formerly Coal City and Streamwood, passed away Friday September 18, 2009.

Born September 02, 1940 in Joliet, David James is a son of Margaret (nee Kelly) Anderson and the late James Anderson. He was raised and educated in Coal City and was a graduate of St. Procopius Academy with the Class of 1958. David was a veteran of the United States Army and served from 1959 to 1965. He worked for Amoco for 29 A½ years and retired in 1997. David was known for his love of Chicago Sports and being a Chicago Cub's fan. He also greatly enjoyed going to the casino.

Survivors include his mother Margaret Anderson; three children: Amy (Chris) Barry of Minnesota, Cherie (Kevin) Berggren of Oklahoma and Katie Anderson of Chicago; five grandchildren: Kevin Berggren, Jr., Carolyn Berggren, Ryan Berggren, Leah Barry and Justin Barry; one sister Patricia Planeta and niece and nephews: Karyn (Tim) O'Hara, Mike Planeta and David Planeta, as well as several cousins.

Dave was preceded in death by his father James Anderson.

The family will receive friends on Friday September 25, 2009 between the hours of 5:00PM and 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.
