David Richard DiMenna, age 57, of Wilmington, formerly Bridgeview, IL, died on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at his residence.
Born October 31, 1964 in Evergreen Park, IL, a son to Richard Gregory and Jolene Rae (Gillen) DiMenna. David was a graduate of Chicago Christian High School Class of 1982. In 1997 he married Julie Frazee and became step-dad to Mike and Owen, and later Ethan Patrick was born. They lived 17 years in Coal City until moving to Oxford, OH. David worked for Best Buy for over 25 years as a road technician and later as a senior technician.
David was a wonderful nurturing person who was helpful to all. He was a selfless person who was always there to love and provide support for whatever you needed. David loved many kinds of music especially Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, The Tragically Hip and Bruce Springsteen. He enjoyed photography and over the years collected many vintage photos and antiques. David loved all animals, especially his dogs Diamond, Struder, Ruby and Cash. He shared the passion of old cars with his father and loved to travel. David's greatest pride was being an Air Force dad, taking every opportunity to talk about Ethan's military service. He was a loving and kind son, husband, father, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend who was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his mother Jolene DiMenna; son Ethan DiMenna; two step-sons: Michael and Owen Kosik; two sisters: Deena Cothard and Kristie (Ron) Gushi; three nieces: Sarah (Zach) Hughes, Kayla Gushi (Tom) and Lydia Palcuk (Jake); three nephews: Thomas Cothard, Nicky (Kristy) Palcuk and Tony (Mary) Evans; five great nephews and one great niece, as well as, best friend Julie DiMenna.
David was preceded in death by his father Richard DiMenna, grandparents and one nephew Marc A. Cothard, Jr.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Those wishing to participate in the services virtually are welcome to join the live-stream or watch on-demand after the conclusion of the services.
